"A Core Group is a small group where people in the church can belong, be known, and become equipped to walk in their God given destiny and purpose." The goal is to bring wholeness, completeness, and general spiritual health to our church family. We expect people in the core groups to emerge with greater character enabling them to minister from a place of strength because they are supported, encouraged, and stimulated by a spiritual family that is committed to them to be God's best. Its purpose is to allow God to be God and to minister to us individually through a close inner circle of Christian brothers or sisters. We face issues head on and allow Him into our hearts - allowing Him to heal us.
Our Core Groups are made up of 5-7 people and it is gender specific -- all male or all female. It is a closed group that meets for at least one year and for as long as it is needed. Some of our groups have been in existence for two years or more. The group meets as a whole every two weeks for two hours. In the off week, the members meet individually with each other on a rotating basis. The group meets in a home or similar confidential environment that is comfortable and private so that complete confidentiality can be obtained.
Psalm 68:6 "God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity." Galatians 6:2 we are to "bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the Law of Christ." If you are hungry for more of God and His presence, a core group is a great place to spiritually grow with commitment to honesty and obedience, consistency, perseverance, vulnerability and transparency, and a willingness to interact with the Holy Spirit
